Vector or raster? Which artwork file is best

The type of artwork file you send changes how sharp your sign looks, especially when it is printed or cut large.

Vector artwork

Drawn with lines and curves, so it can be made any size and stays perfectly sharp. Best for logos, lettering and cut vinyl.

Typical files: AI, EPS, SVG, and PDFs saved from a design program.

Normal size
Zoomed in: still sharp

Raster (pixel) artwork

Made of tiny squares of colour called pixels. Fine for photos, but it turns blocky or blurry when it is enlarged.

Typical files: JPG, PNG, GIF, and screenshots.

Not sure what you have? Send it anyway and we will tell you if it is good enough. If you have your logo as a vector file, send that one. For photos, send the biggest, highest-quality version you have, not a copy saved from a website or social media. A PDF can hold either kind, so it is worth checking.
